Jazz in the Land
The Official CJO Podcast
Check out our eighth episode of “Jazz in the Land: The Official CJO Podcast,” with our host, CJO Board Member, Darrell Scott.
In this episode, podcast host and CJO Board Member Darrell Scott speaks with Cleveland area Bass Player Ed Stephens and CJO saxophonist, Johnny Cochran, Jr. Stephens may have never played with the CJO, but he has jammed with many CJO members and the Skatch Anderssen Orchestra, which highlights Ellington, Basie and others. Native Clevelander Johnny Cochran, Jr. reminisces about his earliest music memories and why he chose the saxophone: it was shiny! The conversation also touches on the impact the Black Church, Cleveland School of the Arts and Oberlin College had on his unique style.
Listen in as we talk jazz, jazz education, jazz in Cleveland, and more!
Come back for a new episode next month!
