Cleveland Jazz Orchestra School Residency Program

We are bringing our mission of increasing awareness of appreciation of jazz into local schools!

What began in 2019 at Cleveland Metropolitan School District’s Ben Franklin Middle School has evolved into a full-year program at more than six CMSD schools. CJO musicians can also serve in residencies at your school, supporting and supplementing your music activities through lessons, rehearsals, and performances.

CJO’s residency program is unique in its concentration on middle school age students in developing instrumental music programs. Moreover, this program serves students AT THEIR schools, during the school day, rather than being an offsite after school program.
