Artistic Director Sean Jones, guest vocalist Franc West and the CJO large ensemble perform big-band arrangements by CJO members of well-known Rock & Roll, Country Western, Gospel, Blues, R&B, and Brazilian tunes. Special compositions and arrangements by Associate Artistic Director Paul Ferguson, bassist Dave Morgan and other CJO favorites make this a can’t miss show of the season!

My wife and I have been coming to CJO concerts for a few years now. For the past three concerts, we’ve been joined by another couple and during the holiday series, our adult two children. All CJO concerts, whether at the Hanna or in Hudson, etc. are events we look forward to with much anticipation. “What will they play?” “Who will be the featured soloists?” “How will they top that last concert?”
Without hesitation, let me say “Jazz and other genres…” simply, put, blew us away! I mean come on, Tower of Power, the Beatles and R&B, mixed with the triumphant and soulful singing of Farc West….magical. The Didgeridoo? Wow. You took us on a song journey that was so recognizable and feeling, yet so adventurous and otherworldly, we’re still talking about it.
